Former President of the Republic, Bamir Topi, has harshly criticized Democratic Party leader Sali Berisha and the DP leadership, after losing the May 11 elections.
In an interview for the show 'Off the Record' with journalist Andrea Danglli on A2 CNN, Topi said that Berisha should leave along with other exponents of the DP, who, according to him, are over-consumed.
He also said that if the DP deputies in September apologize for the 2008 electoral changes, he is ready to join the Democratic Party, along with many other exponents.
"I do not oppose this thesis, that the arbitration is in Rama's favor. The problem is that you are playing into the game with this arbitrator. And who are you asking this of, asking me, who is just speaking? You are in parliament, you are in the bipartisan commission for electoral reform.
I have a clear understanding of the situation for the referee, but tell us how many minutes do you get to play in the game? How many? The time has come for you, you were a player, now go out and become a coach. The team needs to be changed, the coach needs to be changed, the philosophy needs to be changed. The DP needs to completely exhaust the right-wing political force, which can make an epochal change. So the horses need to be changed.
So take the comparison in any field, you see, when the game is strong, today they are replaced by 5 players. We continue to play with over-consumed people. In Parliament in September, apologize for the 2008 electoral code. Be sure that many voices will join you, including me", Topi said, among other things. (A2 Televizion)
