Prime Minister Edi Rama said that the justice reform gave prosecutors a historic opportunity to investigate high-level politicians, writes A2 CNN.
"Altin Dumani has our respect and solidarity for the work he does, but also the animalistic attacks he has received as a family. He was there and I don't believe his virtues came from the reform, he had them. Why didn't any politician call Altin Dumani all those years he was a prosecutor, to call him "come here for once"? Why didn't he investigate him? Why didn't any judge come out and say: "come here Altin because I will judge him"? Zero! Not investigated, investigated but not summoned. Because it is not a matter of Altin, nor of X or Y. Because it was not a matter of Altin, but of the sword. He did not have the sword, but political power did. That sword that the lady of justice holds in her hand, was held in the hand of political power", said Rama during a meeting with the structures of the Socialist Party in Elbasan.
Rama added that the vote for the Socialist Party will make it possible for justice, not politics, to continue to wield the "sword." "EU accession is salvation, May 11 is coming and we tell Albanians that justice should wield the sword and that political power should not come and take it.
