Democratic Party MP Dashnor Sula has confessed on the 'Debat' show with journalist Alba Alishani on A2 CNN why negotiations to be a candidate for the 'Alliance for a Greater Albania' coalition in the May 11 elections failed.
Sula said that initially he was never on the DP list, neither on the closed nor on the open one.
He added that after not seeing his name on the DP list, he went to the 'Shqipëria Bëhet' coalition led by Adriatik Lapaj, with whom, according to Sula, they did not agree because he sought guarantees that the people placed on the closed list would withdraw.
Sula said that after this decision, he received a call from Flamur Noka, who asked him to run on the open list of the DP. He said that he had asked Noka to create a free spot on the list, so that there would be space for a relative of his, who according to Sula, is also the voting machine that he secures in Elbasan.
According to Sula, this request was not accepted by Noka and negotiations to be the DP's candidate in the May 11 elections were closed yesterday.
"I was not on the DP list at all, neither closed nor open. Zero. Let Sali Berisha come out first and everyone else and refute this with evidence and facts. On Thursday, Flamur Noka, the secretary, number 2 of the DP, called me, who after finding out that I would not have to run, because I said that my position in relation to him was in a hurry, even considering that it was the last 2 hours, the emotional person, etc., etc., despite the fact that the Albania Initiative is an opposition party, and when he did not give me technical guarantees, because they had put aunts, uncles, fathers on the closed lists, and for me, Lapaj has lost the chance of his political life.
He would get the first mandate in Elbasan from me, because 80% of the Democrats would vote and 20% of his supporters, which I refused because I was looking for guarantees, because he told me that there are useless people on the closed lists and they withdraw at any moment. Noka asked me to continue running on the open list of the DP. And I, because of the insistence of hundreds and hundreds of Democrats and many voices, because of my weakness for the Democrats and the DP, as I am an emotional nature, even break down when I have to do a service and I do it.
Because I am not one of them, I am using an expression that I also said to Berisha in 2008 before the Parliamentary Group, 'I am a man who breaks, not one who bends'.
