Prime Minister Edi Rama was part of a meeting held with representatives of employers, employees and civil society to strengthen social dialogue and cooperation between Albania and the EU.
During his speech, Rama said that today is a historic moment for Albania, as according to him, the EU and Brussels are more ready than ever to take our country in.
Rama also said that Albania should take advantage of this chance and make all efforts to be within the Union, before the EU door is closed.
“We are now living in a moment where Brussels and the EU have surprised us with their strong will and their willingness to take us in. When I think back to when we first started this long journey more than 30 years ago, it is the first time I remember that our stars are aligned with the stars of the European Union.
Not only in terms of the future and perspective, but also in terms of the present. The EU has been very careful to say that our country will one day be in Europe, but we have never felt what we are feeling lately, the readiness to make it a reality. This is related not only to our good work, but also to the general situation in the EU and beyond. The door is open.
"We must take advantage of this chance and do our best to be inside when this door closes again. We know how it works. The castle opens doors and then closes doors.
