Right-wing councilors are still unclear about who is running the Municipality of Tirana after the arrest of Erion Veliaj. At the Municipal Council meeting, the Democrats requested the delegation document with Veliaj's signature, a request that was not fulfilled until the end, a request that also led to the first confrontation with the leader Anuela Ristani.
Another concern raised at this meeting by the opposition had to do with the role of Prime Minister Edi Rama in governing the Municipality of Tirana.
In addition to this confrontation, the Tirana Municipal Council approved the list of beneficiary families for economic assistance and authorized the Albanian Investment Corporation for the project to revitalize the "Asllan Rusi" Sports Palace.
On this point, opposition advisors requested guarantees that the facility would not be alienated.
Alimehmet's request for the alienation of ownership of the building of the former Autotraktor factory was not included in the agenda.
This municipal council meeting interrupted left-wing and right-wing councilors from their electoral campaign on the ground for several hours, as some of them, most notably the council president, are running for a mandate as a deputy in the May 11 elections.
