The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, spoke at the National Council meeting regarding the process of selecting candidates for deputies with whom the Alliance for a Greater Albania will be represented in the May 11 elections.
While describing the selected candidates as free and untainted, Berisha said that the selection process was very difficult as there were many prominent people on the list with whom you could fill 3 parliaments.
"These are the strongest premises for a historic victory for the DP on May 11. A victory that has begun to resonate throughout the world. The DP enters this campaign after a series of unprecedented battles, not only withstanding them, but also making strong opposition to the narco-state. The resistance of the activists and leaders of the DP to a dictatorial regime based on drugs and theft is an epic battle in the history of a nation for freedom. All forms of blackmail, the DP managed to come to the victory arch, to overthrow the dictatorship and save Albania. Never before has an opposition in difficult conditions managed to oppose, denounce, prove, and prove a dictatorship, as the DP has in these years. This is in honor of those who fought successfully. In this race as you are witnessing, the most open in the history of this country, hundreds of boys and girls, men, women freely expressed their will to run for us. These excellent candidacies were worthy of three parliaments. Selecting the best ones was difficult. Further, the leader of the Democrats stated that the Socialists are already afraid of the diaspora vote and the approach of American Chris LaCivita, who will lead the opposition campaign in these elections.
"Albanians have it as clear as day. They were the first to start the diaspora tour, which was extinguished. The diaspora in support of the DP, determined to repeat the democratic revolution of 1990, has become their hell and terror. When they realized that the diaspora cut off their ticket, they did everything to prevent them from giving up their vote. Rama is hopeless. The chief democrat also spoke about the upset people in the ranks of the Democrats who were not part of the safe list, or even the open one. While blaming the code as unfair, Berisha invited the "sad people" to contribute to these elections until victory.
"For the open part, it has become fairer, but we did not have it in hand. Principles have been followed in every district. Representatives from allies have been sent, but in every case it has been taken into account that the chairman and the ally should not be more than 40% of the closed list. The open list has been made with the most prominent people in the locality. This is a battle. Those who expected to be on the closed list, I understand that they are upset. But we must remain undefeated in this battle, in respect of the investment he has made, in the interest of the DP and his career.
