The Democratic Party base in Fier disputes the closed list of 5 candidates for this district and for this reason has addressed a petition to the President Sali Berisha and the Presidency.
It is learned that the Democrats of the Divjaka area have expressed dissatisfaction after the name of candidate Elisabeta Rredhi, who was elected in the primaries of this district with the votes of 492 members, was not included in the list.
"After the primaries process that determined that the political power for the selection of candidates for MPs would be held by the membership, so far, according to information, it turns out to be a farce and a clan-based selection.
We are following with deep concern that after 12 years of opposition and the center, the DPA leadership is again not respecting the verdict of the Democrats through the selection of primaries, but are finding artifices to avoid them, demotivating us to work in the function of the DP's victory.
We, as a branch of the Divjakë DP, do not feel represented, since the winner of the primaries of the first place among the ladies with 492 votes in the Fier District and the third in the Republic, with significant electoral support and contribution, is not selected by the leadership in the safe list, but is offered a place in the open list. The lady in question has contributed twice as a candidate in 2017 and 2021.
The Divjaka branch has obtained significant results in every election and is one of the best branches of the Fier District, supporting all opposition actions in these 12 years.
The Fier District list, according to preliminary information, is not a winning list and a list that would bring innovation, new and reputable names, since Fier is the most left-wing district in Albania, the electorate is being served the same photos of candidates, "the letter sent to Berisha and the Presidency reads.
