The amendments to the Electoral Code to extend the deadline for registration with the CEC and payment of postal fees must be approved as soon as possible, otherwise, according to Ilirian Celibashi, they will be useless.
In line with the SP, the CEC institution also made it clear to the DP about its proposal. The application for registering immigrants does not work for foreign biometric documents.
"PER is built to identify only Albanian IDs ," Celibashi said.
The high number of rejections of diaspora applications has forced the CEC to ask the Parliament to give Albanians the opportunity to appeal online before the registration process is completed. Meanwhile, for the next 30 days, the CEC has decided to facilitate the registration process, giving the opportunity to register the entire family with the same address, by uploading the document proving the address as well as an additional document.
"In this case, the person must upload, along with the document proving the address, one of the following documents: a family certificate, a personal certificate, one of the Albanian identity documents of the person in whose name the address document is, or a declaration in official format."
This right is also granted to persons who are not part of the same family, but live at the same address, by uploading an address document and other additional proof.
"A statement certified by an official authority according to which it is accepted that the other person also resides at the same address as him, or an Albanian identity document of the person in whose name the address document is accompanied by a simple written statement from the latter."
Celiasbhi guarantees that the personal data of the diaspora uploaded to PER has not been made available to any political party. He considers the political claims to be unfounded.
"Why should we become someone's vassal? The personal data available from PER has not been shared with any third party."
Taking inspiration from these images distributed by the SP itself when certain people complete the immigrant application, Celibashi has a call for political parties.
"Don't let them do the registration. Taking data is a criminal offense."
On February 11, 93 CEAZs will be constituted, while the CEC called on the Assembly to approve the budget for political parties for the election campaign.
