Lawyer Leonard Karaj reacted sharply on the 'Off the Record' show with journalist Andrea Danglli on A2 CNN to the public clash between Adriatik Lapaj and Endri Shabani, calling them two politically immature leaders who failed to build a real alternative for the country.
"It looks like a dead child. It was an opposition that could give the idea that there could be some kind of third pole. I read it this way - that these showed that they are two very small leaders, who cannot even go beyond their own noses," Karaj said.
He assessed that Lapaj bears more political responsibility for the situation, emphasizing that rhetoric without concrete action is not enough.
"For me, Lapaj has more responsibility. Because politics is action. If you appear in the media, if you appear when a coalition is formed and say 'I don't want to be an MP at all, we just have to work to become 2', then the uncle has the right to ask to enter the Assembly. Shabani also has responsibility for the people he elects there," he said.
Karaj also harshly criticized the way the clash within the movement was managed, saying that "they did not challenge the electoral code, but their own house."
In the end, he expressed the deep disappointment that this situation has brought to citizens who had begun to hope in a new political generation.
"The history of this whole clash showed something very big - it killed hope. It killed the hope that Albanians would believe in a new generation that could do something. Because I have never had them as role models. Two people that Kreshnik Spahiu has brought out of his nose, I have no role models. I have told both of them publicly," concluded lawyer Karaj, writes A2 CNN.
This statement comes at a time when expectations for a third opposition pole seem to have faded significantly, due to the lack of cohesion and clashes between individuals who were briefly seen as hope for change. (A2 Televizion)
