The leader of the women's party leaves the PL: I will seek other

The chairwoman of the Women's Movement for Integration in the Freedom Party, Esmeralda Demiraj, has resigned from all positions in the Freedom Party. In an Instagram post, she explains the reasons that led her to make this decision.

Demiraj emphasizes that her engagement in this political force was intended to be the voice of the citizens. But in conditions where this is not allowed, she emphasizes, then leaving is the right choice.

"My commitment has had a single purpose: to be the voice of those who believed in me, to represent the concerns, hopes and needs of citizens with dedication and honesty. I firmly believed that politics is a tool to bring about change and to protect the real interests of citizens. However, when conditions do not allow you to do what you promised, when you feel that you can no longer serve the people properly, then leaving becomes the fairest and most honest choice."

She emphasizes that her mission has not ended here, but will seek new opportunities where meritocracy is valued.

"I feel that the work and contribution of each of us to the party should be recognized and appreciated in the right way. After having had the opportunity to reflect and analyze, I have decided that it is time to stop and seek other opportunities that offer me an environment where appreciation and respect are mutual, and where meritocracy is the guiding principle. Thanking you from the bottom of my heart, with deep humility and gratitude, I guarantee that our common mission is not over. I will never stop believing in the values and principles that should be an inseparable part of politics in our country. I will never stop believing that the future belongs to the brave and only to Albanians."

Dear friends, supporters and sympathizers who have accompanied me in many electoral battles and challenges since my membership and early engagement in the former LSI and the Freedom Party today,

I feel a moral obligation to share with you today my decision to resign from this party, giving up every function I have held to date, such as:

1. Chairwoman of the Women's Movement for Integration in the Freedom Party for Albania,

2. Member of the Presidency of the Freedom Party and the Executive Presidency,

3. Member of the National Steering Committee,

4. Vice President of the Tirana Organizing Committee,

5. Political delegate in Administrative Unit No. 4, Tirana, for the elections of May 11, 2025.

During my 14 years in the party, I have had the privilege of contributing to several key positions and various electoral campaigns for the parliamentary elections (candidate in 2021) and local elections (candidate in 2023). My commitment has had a single goal: to be the voice of those who believed in me, to represent the concerns, hopes and needs of citizens with dedication and honesty.

I firmly believed that politics is a tool to bring about change and to protect the real interests of citizens. However, when conditions do not allow you to do what you promised, when you feel that you can no longer serve the people properly, then leaving becomes the fairest and most honest choice.

I feel that the work and contribution of each of us to the party should be recognized and appreciated in the right way. After having had the opportunity to reflect and analyze, I have decided that it is time to stop and seek other opportunities that offer me an environment where appreciation and respect are mutual, and where meritocracy is the guiding principle.

Thanking you from the bottom of my heart, with humility and deep gratitude, I assure you that our common mission is not over. I will never stop believing in the values and principles that should be an inseparable part of politics in our country. I will never stop believing that the future belongs to the brave and only to Albanians.

Yours,
