Prices 2 times more expensive than in 2013, Berisha: Albania last in the region

From a meeting with Democratic Party sympathizers in Branch 5 in Tirana, Sali Berisha accused the Rama government that in 12 years of government they have plunged the country into poverty, keeping salaries and pensions in place.

"They plunged the Albanians into the depths of poverty, plunged them into one of the most terrifying poverty dominated from top to bottom by the psychology of the thief, of the thief who thinks only of the loot he steals and does not think of the victim, even these 12 years of they froze salaries, they froze pensions. Prices in the free market have their own course, and today the pensioner with 160 thousand lek, from the 143 thousand he received in 2013, buys food at absolutely 2 times the price, up to 2.5 times more expensive than he bought it in 2013. Now can imagine how these noble men and women with an average pension of 160 thousand lek can afford the food they have today a more expensive price than in Greece, Germany, Italy. How can he afford the medicine, how can he afford the energy, pay it at the same price paid by employees with high salaries", said Berisha.

Berisha also stopped at the drop of the euro in the exchange rate, saying that the narco-currency is the reason why thousands of Albanian families who end the month thanks to remittances have been damaged.

"Those who receive support from their children because of the narcoeuro, lose 40% of the children's savings that they send to Tirana. Because the euro has been devalued in an unimaginable way in Albania. So are families with low wages. What can a low salary do in Albania with which to support 1-2 children. It is an alarming situation", declared the leader of the DP.

According to Berisha, between the years 2005-2013, when the country was governed by the Democratic Party, there is a study that shows that Albania was ranked 4th precisely for the best income distribution.

"It was Switzerland, an African country, Zambia or Congo, and there was also Albania in the group of 4 countries. Why did this happen, how did it happen? We doubled salaries and pensions, we doubled salaries and pensions, and we built over 11 thousand km of roads. We proved to the Albanians that we were returning the income they had, but we were returning it with salaries, pensions, we were returning it by building roads for the community wherever it was. Today, we, who were in charge of salaries and pensions in 2013, were the last to roll over", he underlined. (A2 Televizion)
