Some citizens have protested in front of the premises of the Special Prosecutor's Office, after the mayor Erion Veliaj appeared at SPAK.
Sources for A2 CNN inform that with banners in their hands, the protesters demanded the punishment of Veliaj, whom they call a thief and a fraud.
"99 fraudsters, thieves, the hacks of the Combine are catching you," read one of the protestors' placards.
Also, it is learned that Veliaj is giving statements regarding the investigation registered by Spak for the criminal offense of "passive corruption of high state officials and local elected officials".
We remind you that a few days ago, BKH, by order of SPAK, confiscated the mobile phone of Erion Veliaj's wife, Ajola Xoxa, after a check carried out in their apartment, while the mayor was not in Albania.
Two days ago, the Special Court of Appeal rejected the appeal made by Ajola Xoxa, the wife of the mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, against the decision that allowed SPAK to control and seize the mobile phone.
In the same decision, the Appeal overturned the same claims raised against the controls by the mayor's brother, Arbër Veliaj, and two companies whose premises passed through the filter of BKH agents, A2 CNN reports.
