The Minister of Health and Social Protection, Albana Koçiu, stated today that at the government meeting, 275,000 families and individuals benefiting from the schemes of the social program have been awarded a reward for the end of the year holidays.
Minister Koçiu said in a statement to the media that "there are 15,000 lek or 150 euros that are allocated to families in need who benefit from the economic assistance scheme, children without parental care, disabled people who have the status of first and quadriplegic, as well as those who have the status of the blind. For the first time this year, assistants and caregivers of disabled people also receive the end-of-year bonus. There are 18,000 helpers and caregivers for people with disabilities who will also receive the year-end reward".
She emphasized that it is a fund allocated from the state budget of nearly 2.1 billion lek that goes to all families and individuals in need.
The minister also spoke about the review of the economic aid scheme in the spirit of their integration and training. "From social support programs, in addition to financial support, we are also reviewing the way of evaluating and awarding benefits from the social protection scheme. Another important decision was made today that has to do with the strengthening of individuals who are in the active workforce and who are currently beneficiaries of the economic assistance scheme. This means that adult members who are active labor force will be referred to the Vocational Training Agency, not only integration to find a job, but also to equip them with individual skills in order to be able to provide income for families theirs. It is important for us that every family with economic assistance receives economic assistance, but this is not the solution. We must train the individuals of the family in order to be able to support their families themselves", concluded the Minister of Health and Social Protection, Albana Koçiu. (A2 Televizion)
