"Living minimum 200 euros and consumer card" - Berisha reveals the

Democratic Party Leader Sali Berisha unveiled the program for pensioners today, during a meeting he held with the elderly.

During his speech, Berisha said that a minimum orphan's pension of 200 euros will be established, which according to him means that there will be no pensions below this figure, writes A2 CNN.

Berisha also said that any pension over 200 euros will increase by 20%, while adding that a consumer card will be introduced, the reimbursement list will be expanded, and the price of electricity and water will be reduced.

Excerpt from Berisha's speech:

But today in our society, the most painful problems are those of pensioners.

That's why we have decided to cut the Gordian knot.

We have decided to take the fund from the state budget and set a living wage of 200 euros for every adult Albanian.

What does this matter to pensioners?

All pensioners, and there are not a few, but two-thirds of them, who receive under 200 euros, three months after the DP comes to power, with the first budget, they will receive 200 euros.

Each one of them, 200 euros.

It has been calculated by the People's Advocate, together with the International Labor Organization, that for Albania, 200 euros lift people out of extreme poverty.

At 200 euros, that's 6.3 dollars a day, which is the minimum, but the living minimum.

So we will cut the Gordian knot.

We are doing nothing but what all countries that do not want their citizens to live in misery have done. Extreme poverty is misery.

Now we have decided to give this answer, we will give every Albanian who earns under 200 euros, 200 euros.

Other pensions above 200 euros will increase by 20 percent.

Our goal is to be at the top of the region's countries for salaries and pensions.

Why should we leave? We are the richest country. There is no other country around us that has our wealth.

We have infinite natural resources, we have extraordinary tourist potential. We have little land, but it is among the most fertile.

So we were at the top of other countries for salaries and pensions, today we have dropped to the bottom of the countries in the region.

In 2013, a Montenegrin received a pension of 138 thousand lekë in our value, today the average Montenegrin receives a pension of 450 euros. What does Montenegro have that makes it receive pensions three times higher than ours?

What does Macedonia have that makes it receive pensions 3 times higher than ours?

Serbia three times higher than us.

Kosovo has higher pensions than us. Kosovo has an average pension of 190 euros, we have 160 euros.

So, we give an immediate response to this situation.

We set the living wage. (A2 Televizion)
