Rally with municipality employees, Berisha: SPAK should have handcuffed Edi Rama in the square

Sali Berisha called the rally of the head of government, Edi Rama, with Tirana Municipality employees in "Skënderbej" Square a missed opportunity to show the independence and integrity of SPAK.

The opposition leader claimed that the Prime Minister's meeting with municipal employees is an election crime in flagrante delicto, against which he says SPAK should have acted. 

"If SKAP really intends to investigate electoral crime, Edi Rama should have been put in the spotlight with the electoral rally he organized last night."

Despite his distrust of this institution, Berisha promises to file criminal charges against Edi Rama, giving him another chance at justice.

"We will file a report, convinced that SPAK reviews with great priority the files submitted by the government. We do them, they do not review our files, on the contrary, they do the opposite. But they remain there and justice delays, but does not forget."

As the elections approach and the CEC's deadlines for deciding whether to implement electronic voting and counting on May 11 are narrowing, the Democratic leader expresses skepticism about this procedure that was requested by the Democrats, but removes responsibility from himself if the expenses incurred by the CEC go to waste.

"The PS rejected the electronics. They rejected the electronics themselves. I don't know if there is such a proposal from the CEC. There is, but it doesn't say that in every election, it has its own interpretations. The interpretation is broader."

Regarding coalitions, the opposition leader confirmed that negotiations are also taking place with Shpëtim Idrizi, while the invitation also goes to other parties to unite in a front against Edi Rama.

"We value Mr. Idrizi's party as a valuable ally. We will do everything to expand the opposition front with other parties."

He rules out any possibility of collaboration with Lulzim Basha, while when Enkelejd Alibeaj's name is mentioned, he responds with irony.  "There is a party for Alibeaj, where is he?" (A2 Televizion)
