As part of his stay in the US, where he closely followed the inauguration ceremony of President Donald Trump, the leader of the Republican Party, Fatmir Mediu, has held a series of high-level meetings.
Through posts on the social network Facebook, he announced that he met with Senators John Cornyn and James Lankford, with whom they discussed problems in the Balkan region and in particular the situation in Albania, with the country facing parliamentary elections.
“It was a pleasure to meet with Senator John Cornyn, a member of the Senate Foreign Relations and Intelligence Committees, and a member of the OSCE PA, with whom we discussed his engagement in the Security Forum that I am co-organizing in Congress on February 5th on the topic of “Malignant Actions of China, Russia, and Iran.” It was a pleasure to meet my old friend Senator James Lankford and his wife Cindy during the inauguration. Senator Lankford is the vice chairman of the Republican Senatorial Conference and a member of the Intelligence Committee. Further, regarding elements of the Security Forum, we spoke with Phol Breuder, Senator Cornyn’s Security Advisor, and Paul J Bonicelli, Senator Rick Scott’s Security Advisor, about the interest in organizing this forum next year in the US Senate. We discussed the problems with the manipulation of elections by the government in Albania, the links with organized crime, and corruption. "The use of justice in violation of the laws and the constitution against the opposition," writes Mediu. (A2 Televizion)
