The Special Court decided to dismiss the lawsuit for "defamation" of the lawyer Valentina Teodorescu against the former prime minister, Sali Berisha.
Teodorescu is the lawyer, who was appointed mainly by the court, represented Sali Berisha in the session of October 26, 2023, where the first measures "obligation to appear" and "prohibition of going abroad" against him were confirmed.
The transition of Teodorescu from the lawyer-client relationship with Berishas, although determined mainly by the court, to the opposing party in the courtroom happened a few days after the October session, as her name was labeled on television panels or published on social networks as patronage, or former investigator of the dictatorship.
For these statements, in the same lawsuit for "defamation", Teodorescu raised the finger of accusation and demanded the trial of the former Prime Minister's son, Shkëlzen Berisha, Democratic MPs Flamur Noka and Edi Paloka, former MP Luçiano Boçi, 3 media outlets, 7 journalists and Berisha's lawyer, Genci Gjokutaj.
According to the decision of the Special Court, the dismissal of the criminal case registered after her lawsuit was made due to the non-appearance without reasonable cause of the accusing victim Teodoresku in Monday's session.
In October two years ago, Teodorescu defended Berisha's legal interests after a ping-pong of lawyers in the session that lasted almost three days.
