As the days pass, Sali Berisha continues to denounce irregularities in the elections, while the Parliament prepares to welcome the current MPs back next Thursday, May 29.
In a press conference, the opposition leader indicated that despite the fact that some MPs will no longer have a seat in September, in the remaining sessions they will continue the battle that was abandoned before the elections.
"I have no fear that the opposition MPs will not remain oppositional. After this electoral farce, they will be twice as motivated to denounce the entire ugly electoral farce that took place before Albanians and the world," said Berisha.
Clarity seems to be only for a few weeks, as when asked about the Democrats' behavior in September, Berisha passes the responsibility to the party forums, where he claims that they will be the ones who will decide whether to accept the 50 seats in the new Parliament, writes A2 CNN.
"Everything will be decided by the forums. But I, in the presupposition of participating in the parliament, declared that we will vote only on those laws that have to do with Albania's integration into the EU. That was it. I did not say whether we will accept or not. I said that if we will accept, but I said that in case we do, we will vote only on these," Berisha said.
With almost two weeks having passed since the May 11 elections, Berisha admitted that there will also be internal discussions on the responsibilities of the Democrats regarding the result.
"At any time and at any moment, I am aware that no one comes out of the theory of error. And you can be convinced that the DP, after the fight for the international presentation of this farce, will without a doubt conduct all internal discussions on all the problems, defects, shortcomings, mistakes," Berisha said.
Along with the request for a caretaker government, he reiterated once again that he has no intention of giving up his position as party leader.
