"Crime brought 28 MPs into parliament", Berisha: Internationals

"The international community declared the elections dead 10 days before they were to take place," said Democratic Party leader Sali Berisha at his daily press conference, calling them an electoral farce. He accused Edi Rama's government of close cooperation with organized crime and manipulation of the electoral process.

"The international center-right community condemned with capital punishment on April 30, 2025, the elections that would take place 10 days later in Albania. Anyone who reads the Valencia resolution, censored in the most total way, almost, by the government media for Albanians, finds that that resolution tells the international public opinion and the Albanians that there will be no elections in Albania but an electoral farce. This is the absolute truth."

Berisha stated that international resolutions clearly speak of buying votes with money and cannabis, including the granting of pensions and licenses, and that the prosecution and politics support this criminal system.

"The international community is never guided by prejudice. Or it says, when there is no certainty, it says there are doubts. But here it does not say that there are doubts, it has declared that Edi Rama is buying votes with lek. That it has seen the decision to grant 100 euros to pensioners. It has declared that it is buying votes with cannabis because it has seen the decision to grant 138 licenses. It has not declared that it will forgive fines, that this decision was made in the last two days. So, we are dealing with a foretold death of the electoral process and the foretold development of a complete electoral farce as it takes place in all narco-dictatorial regimes", Berisha stressed, according to A2 CNN.

Speaking by name, Berisha said that 28 deputies with connections to the criminal world have entered parliament, only four of whom received over 80,000 votes.

"Only three of these candidates or four of these candidates have 80 thousand registered votes. The champion is of course Sara Mile. The champion is Arkend Balla. The champion is Ani Dyrmishi. The champion is Blendi Xhabafti. These four together make up about 80 thousand votes and these are only the vanguard of the criminal contingent of 28 deputies that the gangs received orders from Edi Rama to support. To the lawyers of the electoral farce of the narco-government, I say that by defending the farce, you are committing an ugly crime against the most fundamental freedoms of Albanian citizens. And you are proving to be more mercenary than any other type of mercenary. I ask the question once again, whose are the 80 thousand votes of the deputies of the crime party? Whose are they? A complete and total connection with the government." (A2 Televizion)
