The chairman of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, has stated that if the mass depopulation is not stopped, in 20 years there will be no more Albanians in our country.
Berisha made his comments during a meeting with pensioners in Durrës, where he said that for 9 years, about 40% of Albanians have left.
He harshly attacked Prime Minister Edi Rama, whom he said is considered the Albanian Pashiçi, who serves Serbia at the expense of Kosovo.

Once again, good evening and thank you very much for being here today. I am very pleased to meet you.
First, I would like to express my boundless gratitude for all the energy, dedication, and contribution you have given in these decades to Durrës, to Albania, to DP.
But today, I have come to you to talk with you about the next DP project to discuss and present to you. Each one of us today has a great concern when he finds out that in 9 years, about 40% of the population left Albania, and this is very real.
No other nation has lost so much in 9 years. Neither those who have gone through civil wars, nor those who have experienced general wars, as we experienced in these 9 years.
Meanwhile, the truth is, the official statistics, Albanian and European, show that from 2007 to 2013 the number of Albanians in Albania increased from year to year. And let me tell you, it's not that they didn't leave, they didn't move. But in recent years, 180,000 Albanians from emigration returned to Albania.
He took a German ambassador, and he told me: we have no problem with your asylum seekers, about 400 of them, but how can we distinguish them, he said, are Albanians from Albania or from Kosovo. In 2012-2013, there were a total of 430 Albanians who sought asylum in Germany.
I stopped at these figures, that, when you compare today this mass departure, this mass emptying, this constitutes a very big national drama, which if we don't stop it, absolutely in a period of time not later than 20, maximum 30, in these lands it will not be remembered who will be here. Because there are unprecedented rates of depopulation, emptying.
This is exactly what has led very prominent analysts, very prominent publicists, to call Edi Rama the Albanian Pashiqi, or the best prime minister after Pashiqi.
I don't want to dwell long on these descriptions because people today expect solutions from us. It is the most normal thing to ask the question: what is your solution sir? That we touch this reality every day. This reality has many sad sides, but this reality needs solutions.
