The Democratic Party candidate for the Dibra district, Basir Çollaku, through a post on the social network Facebook, accused his socialist rivals yesterday of distributing products ( according to him, flour ) in exchange for votes for the May 11 elections.
According to Çollaku, a yellow van, in which he claims there were employees of the Ulëz administrative unit, stopped door to door in the village of Bushkash distributing, which is why he filed a complaint at the police station.
"The flour van?!?! Or... Today at around 5:30 pm a "Mercedes Benz" van, a yellow sprinter, according to reports from the field, entered the Bushkashi area "inspecting" apartments with decorations. At the wheel of the vehicle was an exponent of the PS of Mat. The van was accompanied by an SUV in which there were employees of the Ulëz administrative unit. I myself followed it into the field where I photographed it. As we will do in any case when we receive information. The Sprinter has two owners, the user from Durrës and from Mat. We will forward the names to the Police of the Mat Commissariat of the Dibër Local Police Directorate, which we have informed, waiting for the necessary procedural verifications. The police can check the cell phones of the people in the vehicle and ascertain the route of the suspected vehicle," Çollaku wrote on Facebook.
The Mati police have already announced that they have carried out verifications at the direction of the Dibër Prosecutor's Office and have escorted the driver of the van that Çollaku reported, but have not found any violations.
"On 08.04.2025, citizen B.Ç., 56 years old, resident of Tirana, candidate for deputy in the Albanian Parliament, presented himself and filed a report after suspecting that in the village of Bushkash, Mat, some persons unknown to him were distributing various products with a vehicle (van), with the aim of favoring political entities. Immediately after the administration of the report, the services of the Mat Police Commissariat escorted the driver of the vehicle, citizen FL, along with his van, where the inspection and investigative actions did not find any illegal items or actions," the police explain.
