"It was a missed opportunity for Albania to organize elections. Because it was the first time that they were organized with open negotiations. And elections are a key element in the first chapter group. Therefore, I would have thought that even for the sake of this rhetoric that the government has maintained about integration, the behavior would have been completely different from what happened. On the other hand, I consider integration as the only way to change Albania. Because I don't know of a better instrument than how to have more control, monitoring in Albania. Even for electoral corruption and organized crime."
But what should happen now with the opposition, should the leadership change, so that the election result will also change? “It is a good thing that there was an internal debate in the DP, but the fact that we have made these debates public has damaged us”, says Tabaku. “The opposition will do its utmost. Those mandates were won with a lot of struggle. But we must not forget that we must use new ways, a new spirit, also for the citizens, the Albanians, who are in their fourth mandate without political rotation. We cannot fail to offer this hope. The DP must definitely be a political alternative. The Democratic Party must fight every day, it will work every day as if it were the last day of the campaign. We have no other choice but to fight every day. Demand every day for early elections, demand every day for a technical government, but this also accompanied by our alternative”.
Asked about the fact that there were voices from within the DP that have also contested her personal result, as the most voted MP from the DP ranks, Tabaku replied: "There is nothing wrong with demanding transparency. My only comment is that there should be transparency for all of Tirana.
