Democratic Party MP, Kreshnik Çollaku, has stated that the DP, in its current situation, can never come close to power.
Çollaku made the comments in "Ditarin Qëndor" by journalist Loneta Progni on A2 CNN, where he said that the DP today needs a deep rethinking and reform.
He also said that the votes received in the May 11 elections by the Democratic Party of Kosovo (DP) are Sali Berisha's personal votes, while adding that no one else has done anything that would add more votes to this political force.
"I think that today every democrat must clearly read the reality. The DP in these conditions that it is today, every time the elections are repeated, has no chance of approaching power. The DP needs a deep reform, which is not only related to changing names, leaders, but we must rethink it, find that first, fundamental concept of the DP.
The DP must return to an open party, which finds oxygen, civility, and energy in criticism. The DP must abandon the model of a party where critics are considered enemies and traitors. The DP must read reality. The opposition votes are divided into 3 blocks. 400-500 thousand are votes supporting Sali Berisha. No one did anything to secure more than these votes for Berisha.
"Are these votes enough for the DP to come to power? No, they are not enough. There are about 200 thousand who did not vote and about 130 thousand who voted for the new parties. The formula that will bring these contingents of votes together will be the formula that will bring the DP to power," Çollaku said, writes A2 CNN. (A2 Televizion)
