Suspension of the Assembly, hope in the Constitutional Court to end the

With four days left until the expiration of the suspension measure against the Kosovo Assembly imposed by the Constitutional Court, analysts are hoping for a new, quick and clear decision.

After initially being given 30 days to constitute the Assembly, the Constitutional Court decided on a two-week temporary measure for MPs that will end this Friday, August 8.

"It is important that the Constitutional Court more clearly calls for this path to be crystallized. In the meantime, whether we will be able to emerge from this political crisis depends on the will of the political parties," declared analyst Afrim Kasolli.

PDK and LDK have contested the insistence on having a secret ballot to elect the head of Parliament, while President Vjosa Osmani has requested additional clarifications on the legal consequences since the Parliament was not constituted within the stipulated 30-day deadline.

Possible scenarios range from giving MPs additional time to form a parliament to burning MPs' mandates, which would mean extraordinary elections.

"Why should citizens vote as long as the entities that are mandated by them to materialize their will hold it hostage and we are in a situation where political entities, not so much because of the ambiguities that exist in the Constitution of Kosovo but because of their incompetence, have actually held hostage the political will of the citizens of Kosovo," says analyst Afrim Kasolli.

The Constitutional Court has not provided details on when a decision will be made on the issue of the Kosovo Assembly.

"Following the decision to impose the interim measure ex-officio, the Court will issue a decision on the merits regarding the requests submitted regarding the constitution of the Assembly of Kosovo," A2 CNN quotes the Constitutional Court of Kosovo.

Kosovo held elections 6 months ago, while the constitutive session began on April 15.

By July 26, 54 unsuccessful attempts had been made to elect the speaker and deputy speakers of the Assembly, which would be considered a constituted legislature. (A2 Televizion)
