The political leader of the Democratic Party for Tirana, Belind Këlliçi, revealed in "Off the Record" by Andrea Danglli, the strategy that the Democrats and their leader Sali Berisha will follow, to undo, as they claim, the result of the May 11 elections.
According to Këlliç, we will have a scheme similar to the one after the 2001 elections, which transformed the political climate in Albania and, according to him, the DP proved that they were completely stolen by the government of the time.
"Even earlier, in 2001, you will see that after a more or less similar tour of the DP, the European Parliament and the Council of Europe reached the position that the 2001 elections did not reflect the will of the Albanian people. In that period, it was similarly proven that there had been a distortion of the elections and theft on such a large scale that the will of the citizens was distorted. This then led to a completely different political climate, a consensus election of the President in 2002 and the coming to power of the DP in 2005. Similar to this cycle, but different from then, this time we have 4 resolutions that have overturned the elections before they were held, approved in October and November of last year by the EPP and the IDC/CDI, which is the largest centrist and right-wing party organization in the world. All four of these resolutions tarnish the elections. They say that there are no free and fair elections," declared Këlliçi in "Off the Record" by Andrea Danglli, on A2 CNN.
Further, the newly elected Democratic MP expressed confidence that there will be important developments by September, when the new Parliament is constituted.
"By September I am convinced that there will be many events that will happen. I say this with conviction. We will have a very long cycle of denunciations from the DP for the electoral farce held by Edi Rama's electoral state on May 11. And by September we will have decision-making by the highest forums of the DP in relation to the approach that we will have to have with the Assembly and those 50 mandates that the DP has obtained with blood in these elections," said Këlliçi in "Off the Record" by Andrea Danglli, on A2 CNN.
