Democratic Party MP, Luciano Boçi, stated that the failure of the DP to achieve success in the May 11 elections was a result of the annulment of the elections by the 'Rama' government.
Boçi made the comments in an interview for 'Ditari i Fundjavës' with journalist Erion Dushi on A2 CNN, where he said that the opposition's fight for the return of free voting for Albanians will continue.
He added that despite the Democratic Party's continuous protests and denunciations, the electoral process in 2025 not only did not improve, but according to him, was completely destroyed.
"We represent the DP and the result is measured in its entirety. The DP has not been able to achieve success, not through its own fault, but because of the annihilation of the elections in Albania. This is the main problem on which the media and political discourse should be built. The electoral process was destroyed in 2023 and in 2025 it was completely destroyed.
The fight in the DP has been, continues and will continue. We have been in continuous protests for a technical government, we are entering the elections, because a political party cannot leave the system and we are in a fight for the vote. We are in a fight for elections, to achieve free elections.
"So we are not simply for the victory of the DP. So that was our fight even when we were asking for a technical government. We have not stopped at that part of our demands, what we asked for before the elections, during the elections and what we are asking for now," said Boçi, among other things. (A2 Televizion)
