"Victory, victory" - Democratic Party Leader Sali Berisha was welcomed with cheers and applause in Elbasan, where he presented the DP's candidates for deputies.
"May 11 will be the second day of summer for Elbasan and all of Albania," declared the opposition leader during the presentation of the district's candidates at the sports palace filled with democrats, writes A2 CNN.
"May 11 will be the day of the end of the longest 12-year winter that Albanians have experienced. May 11 will be the day of the true spring of democracy for Albania and Albanians," said Berisha.
With the team seeking the votes of the citizens of the Elbasan district on May 11th behind them, Berisha portrayed the 12 years of socialist governance as a long winter and added that this city was only deserted.
"The Democratic Party comes before you with a solemn commitment to move from this dramatic situation to the project of a Great Albania, the Albania of the dreams of Albanian boys and girls," Berisha continued.
He called the Socialist Party candidates representatives of crime, while he spoke of his team in superlatives, saying that they are the guarantors who will make the program for a Greater Albania a reality.
"We present before you today candidates, boys, girls, noble men and women, people you know. We come here with this team, known to you and no anonymous ones. We come here with this team of candidates who have served you in all fields," Berisha added.
To make Elbasan great, Berisha promised the construction of infrastructure works.
"The magnificent Elbasan begins with the construction of the Elbasan bypass as the first work of the government. Yes, yes, I have declared and I declare again, the Elbasan bypass, the Shkodër-Milot highway will be the first two works to be built with absolute priority by the next government", said Berisha.
The democratic leader claimed that if they gain the trust of Albanians on May 11, in government they will have a special focus on the economy and on Albania producing and exporting.
"Made in Albania, it will be pride...", said Berisha, writes A2 CNN.
There was a call for all Democrats to unite.
