Problems with voting envelopes in Greece, DP asks the CEC for immediate

The Democratic Party and the Alliance for a Greater Albania have sent a request to the State Election Commissioner regarding the voting of the diaspora in Greece for the May 11 elections. The request of the PD-ASHM, represented by Franc Nuri, states that the sudden change in the individual withdrawal of envelopes at DHL has raised serious concerns about the transparency, standard and legality of the voting process.

"Electoral authorities publicly guaranteed that each ballot envelope would be delivered to the voter's declared address in the PEL, through a direct postal service. But suddenly the CEC changed its approach. Through a simple announcement on the CEC's social networks, Albanian voters in Greece had to appear in person at DHL points to collect or deliver the ballot envelope ," the PD-ASHM request states.

According to the DP, this sudden change contradicts the rules and the previous statement of the CEC.

The request, dated yesterday, May 4, also states that just one week before election day, the CEC reported over 6,000 envelopes arriving from Greece, while a few weeks ago their total number was 17,700.

According to the DP, this unusual influx reinforces doubts about the integrity of the process.

Under these conditions, the DP requests the immediate intervention of the CEC to restore the legality of the voting process and vote administration in the Greek state, guaranteeing regularity, security and reliability for every vote of Albanians living in Greece.
