In today's Plenary Session, the Chairman of the Socialist Party Parliamentary Group, Niko Peleshi, said that the majority was ready to continue with the process of electing the Ombudsman.
Peleshi made it clear that the Socialist Party has no objection to following parliamentary procedures based on the opposition's proposals and that some candidacies, according to him, have already received the opposition's signatures, writes A2 CNN.
"For us, the process should continue as we agreed earlier. We have no objection to any name, but it is important to respect the institutional path," said the Chairman of the SP Parliamentary Group.
He also announced that he has asked the Chairman of the Democratic Party Parliamentary Group to sit down for discussions on this issue and that the majority is awaiting a response from the opposition. “I have taken my step on behalf of the group, now it remains for the other side to show its will,” Peleshi concluded.
