"Order and security in Albania are in the hands of crime," Sali Berisha claimed, as he promised an unconditional fight against lawlessness to change the situation in the country. At a roundtable with security experts and former police officers, the democratic leader claimed that in Albania there is a joint venture between the government and crime, but promised that they will hit every criminal group, writes A2 CNN.
The opposition leader claimed that all those who are incriminated will be removed from the State Police and the state administration. "I guarantee that tomorrow, wherever they are, even in the most remote caves of this planet, they will be found and will receive the punishment they deserve. Zero tolerance towards organized crime. But this battle will start with government crime. It will start with the ministers, collaborators of criminals," said Berisha.
He defended all the officials dismissed from office during the 12 years of Rama's government, but also those dismissed by Vetting, when he affirmed that their rights would be put in place with priority. "All of you, subjects of the great legal injustices that have been committed, will take the place you deserve... The judges and prosecutors who faced crime tooth and nail and were removed from office with the witch hunt vetting, those who gave life sentences to the socialist government's gangs, they are today outside the institutions as revenge for them."
According to him, a large gap has been created between the salaries of employees in the ranks of the blue uniforms, so he promised to balance them. "The salaries of all police employees will be progressively increased, especially at the inspector and commissioner levels, in order to narrow the gap that has been created in the police between high and low salaries."
After listening to the problems of former police officers, the opposition leader promised to restore the rule of law, which he said is the condition of all conditions for EU integration. (A2 Televizion)
