Prime Minister Edi Rama, in presenting the survey to measure citizen perception on the level of security in the country and trust in the State Police, cited the data from the State Police survey regarding public order and security in the country.
The head of government said that citizens trust the State Police and appreciate the work of law enforcement, writes A2.
Rama said that 82% of citizens surveyed by an independent Swedish company feel safe in Albania.
"Today we are very close to the EU average for the number of murders. The good news is that this truth that we see in the figures can also be read on the pages of this survey. The public, the Albanians, those who live daily life in the cities and villages of Albania, in all the survey periods since this survey was conducted, are very close to the logic of the facts of the figures of the measurable progress of the State Police, the facts that we get from the work of the State Police such as the number of murders, accidents, robberies... it is a fact that shows that the people are very clear in reading the security situation and in reading the problems as well as in evaluating the work of the Police, that all those who bang their heads in the television debate halls every night and the daily mud that is thrown by those who for 10 years have not left anything unsaid about the Police, its leaders and employees. "82% of citizens today feel safe or very safe in Albania, within the EU norm," Rama declared.
"The ongoing police reform continues to bear fruit. Throughout the trajectory of the years, the figures are constantly improving. This is the most important thing. However, these figures are not numbers, statistics without value beyond numbers, nor are they propaganda as those who do not want to be heard, to speak well of either the government or Albania, usually try to devalue them with this word... because this people have a different opinion about the government. Therefore, they never understand how the government is evaluated when it comes to public judgments," the prime minister added. (A2 Televizion)
