Rama in Israel: Albania supports the two-state solution, but not with Hamas

Prime Minister Edi Rama has been honored with the Presidential Medal of Honor by the President of Israel, Isaac Herzog, during an official visit to this country.

The medal was awarded in recognition of the contribution of Albanians during the Holocaust, not surrendering a single Jew, as well as for religious and ethnic harmony in Albania.

In his speech, Rama described this as an extraordinary honor, which he said he does not deserve as an individual, but which belongs to all Albanians who helped Jews in difficult times.

He stressed that Albania has always been supportive of a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. However, Rama highlighted that there can be no solution with Hamas, describing the organization as the Nazis of the new century.

"Albania has always been supportive of the two-state solution, but in my view and in our view, there is no solution with Hamas there and unlike what others have tried to say, Hamas is not a resistance movement. Hamas are the Nazis of the new century. History has taught us that there is no peace with Nazis, there is no compromise with Nazis," Rama said.

The Prime Minister concluded his speech with wishes for peace in the region and thanks for the honor received on behalf of the Albanian people.

"Wishing you all the best, the people of Israel, the entire region, and looking forward to seeing peace between Jews and Arabs, I remain truly grateful forever," he stressed. (A2 Televizion)
