Rama meeting in Dibër: SP supported by 56% of women and girls nationally

Following his electoral tour, Prime Minister Edi Rama stopped this afternoon in Dibër for a meeting with the women and girls of this region. Emphasizing their success and key role in the victory of the Socialist Party, the head of government stated that the percentage of women and girls who support the Socialist Party has increased and has reached 56% nationally.

"In all of Albania, the Socialist Party is supported by 56% of women and girls. There are some districts with 65%, Dibra is calculated with 40% support from women and girls. If we have the majority of the first voters, only half of the men are enough for us, we don't need more, because this life has taught us here that half of the men are normal, the other half are idiots. This will make us have our biggest victory on May 11, not only in Dibra, but in all of Albania, this is the 10th and thanks to this and all the women like you here, it will be realized and become the biggest of all."

Prime Minister Edi Rama from Dibra emphasized the key role of women and girls in the electoral success of the Socialist Party, officially launching the electoral campaign with a meeting dedicated to them. In his speech, Rama stated that women's support for the SP has reached 56% nationally, while in some regions it goes up to 65%. In Dibra, he said, this support reaches around 40%, but with the continuous commitment of the structures, a further increase is aimed.

The head of government brought as an example the success of the two women who currently lead the municipalities of Bulqiza and Klos, Festime Mjeshtri and Valbona Kola, underlining the challenges of selecting candidates in areas where, according to him, "a handful of men" claimed political leadership. "Here are today two women who have transformed the perception of local leadership," said Rama.

He did not spare jokes, calling the men “half normal, half stupid,” while ironically emphasizing that if the women were to leave for a month, “when they returned, they would find the men with tails.” However, beyond the humor, his message was clear: the SP aims to increase the representation of women not only in membership, but also in political leadership.

"When we started, women made up 15%, today they are 40%, and our goal is 50,001 members," he declared, describing this as the "tenth victory" that will come thanks to socialist women. In the end, Rama appealed for the continuation of this new spirit and the strengthening of the role of women in politics and governance.
