The Democratic Party candidate in the May 11 elections, Aulon Kalaja, who failed to win the mandate after the vote count was completed, has announced that his request for video footage to see the process of counting the candidates' votes has been approved by the CEC.
The news was announced by Kalaja himself through a post on his Facebook page, who wrote that his battle is not for a parliamentary mandate, but for dignity.
His request for the CEC came after the rivalry within the open lists of the Democratic Party, where candidate Arian Ndoja was the one who managed to win the mandate.
Castle Post:
Dear sisters and brothers!
I am addressing you now because I want to inform you that the vote counting for the Durrës Region has just concluded, both for voters inside and outside the country.
I would like to express my gratitude to the commissioners, observers and counters of the Democratic Party of Albania. You are the heroes of this tiring process, which lasted 9 days in a row. We have stood together! I will not forget you!
Now that you know the Democratic Party's result and my result, I want to thank every voter who gave me confidence. I am grateful.
We achieved a historic result by winning the Municipality of Krujë and Fushë-Krujë, my hometown after 18 years. This ensured that the 6th mandate of the Democratic Party was preserved with honor. You managed to give me over 8 thousand personal votes in my name! That's a lot! Thank you.
Meanwhile, I would like to inform you that I have addressed the Central Election Commission to obtain video footage of the vote counting process between political entities, but also of the votes for the candidate. A request that has been approved by the CEC. When violations are found, I will address the Central Election Commission to recount the votes in the Krujë CEAZ and other CEAZs in the Durrës District. I have taken it upon myself, because I gave you my word when you asked me if I would defend the vote you would give me! Believe me, this is not a battle for a mandate, but for dignity.
You know that my votes are clean, this has been publicly acknowledged by the opponent. They are blood votes. I have not bought votes. I have not promised anything in exchange for the vote. That is why I have asked SPAK, that my phone, at my request, be tapped. I am not afraid.
So I am a simple boy from Fushë-Kruja. I have not had any vote-getters behind me, nor people with strange political influences, nor party orientation to necessarily vote for me, nor criminal groups, nor vote traffickers, nor media at the disposal of the campaign. I have the truth, my friend. I repeat that I have a homeland, a wife, a car, I do not have a house yet! That is why all those who joined me in this mission were free spirits. I want to hug every collaborator and volunteer who joined us in the magical days of the electoral campaign. I know you missed them.
And I want to promise you, that I will be your voice, everywhere, as I have always been. I have never needed a mandate, to be with you. I told you in the campaign that before you give me your votes, I want to win your hearts!
Well, I have to tell you that I did it!
Yours forever Aulon Castle. (A2 Televizion)
