Midnight on March 4 also marked the end of the legal deadline for diaspora registration. The electronic system set up by the Central Election Commission stopped receiving new requests, with 53 such requests resulting as registrations on the 5th, as the process, which had been initiated within the limits, was closed by the citizen after midnight.

According to official CEC data, at the time of the deadline, 231,674 citizens were able to successfully complete the registration as voters from abroad, but this figure has not yet been confirmed. The Central Election Commission must close the review of the requests of the last few days, when on March 3 and 4 there were fully 30 thousand of them, which could also bring a rapid increase in voters from abroad to about 250 thousand.

Among the countries with the most applications, Italy holds the first place with over 86 thousand voters, followed by Greece with about 63 thousand. The first countries are closed with Germany with over 24 thousand application requests, the USA with about 20 thousand and the United Kingdom with over 16 thousand.

The Electoral Code stipulates that each vote will be counted in the district where the Albanian living abroad had his residential address, with Tirana appearing to have a boom in votes with around 50 thousand, followed by Fier with over 30 thousand and Durrës with around 24 thousand.

Upon receiving the envelope, citizens should be careful with the ballot, and not leave it until the last moment as they will only be taken into consideration if they arrive at the CEC before 7:00 PM on May 11. (A2 Televizion)
