Around 300 candidates are interested in the Democratic Party primary race. Midnight between February 17 and 18 was the deadline for submitting candidacies.
In addition to the current MPs who have submitted application forms, other Democratic Party figures have also expressed interest in this race.
This morning, the KOKOE (Commission for the Organization and Control of Electoral Operations) met to review the candidacies regarding the formal aspect of the documentation, and whether they lack documentation.
A meeting of the Presidency is expected to take place this week to approve the list of candidates, officially opening the race.
After the approval of the lists for each district, the internal campaign will begin, culminating in the elections on March 1. (A2 Televizion)
