The head of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, visited the prison of Fier this Thursday, the former MP imprisoned in this institution, Ervin Salianji.
After the meeting, Berisha spoke to the journalists, stating that Salianji is being held in prison after hitting the two most dangerous mafia clans in Albania with one fell swoop, writes A2 CNN.
"The member of the Assembly of Dergets, suffers the punishment, only because he served the country, the citizens, his duty, his obligations, by denouncing at that time the most dangerous clan of traffickers in Albania, the clan of Geron Xhafa. Salianji made public the recording of a brave journalist in which it was proven that Agron Xhafaj, with three names, directed traffic from the Gulf of Vlora to Italy. Agron Xhafa had two brothers, a brother by blood, Fatmir Xhafa, and a brother by morals, Olsi Rama. Since Salianji hit with one fell swoop, the two most dangerous mafia clans of Albania rushed against him with all the means of the mafia and today he suffers the punishment for the great and precious service he did to Albania. Edi Rama should have been in his place".
Further, he told how he found Salianj in Fier prison and what he discussed with him. "Obviously, a person who is limited by freedom cannot but be in an unacceptable situation, otherwise his determination in this battle is complete.
