After his release from prison, former DP MP Ervin Salianji stated that the Supreme Court had not made public the decision on his appeal in time, preventing him from pursuing other appeals to the Constitutional Court. In a press conference with journalists from the DP headquarters, he said that he will continue the battle at the European Court of Human Rights, while emphasizing that he has asked SPAK to investigate the falsification of the lottery conducted by the Supreme Court.
"The electoral campaign cannot be compared to letters from prison. There is another issue with the delay of my appeal to the Supreme Court, I bring the case if it has not been reported, that the Supreme Court has made a falsification through the lottery and I have asked SPAK to investigate, for the failure to clarify the decision on my appeal in time. Where the substitution was made through the lottery, which is beyond any law and violation. The Supreme Court has by law within 60 days to clarify the decision and for me to go further to the Constitutional Court. But this battle will continue, I am not doing it only for myself, but like in 2013-2017 when I did not have a mandate and I campaigned throughout the country, I will do it again for the DP".
Regarding his possible involvement and duties in the DP, no longer being an MP, Salianji implied that he would accept any proposal and continue to confront the government.
"I will be able to do politics through contact with citizens and the proposals coming from the DP. I can't wait for a confrontation at the European Court of Human Rights whether I was right or the government. The law and the rule of law must prevail, we cannot have an increase in the burden on politicians in some cases and relief in other cases."
