"Albania Becomes" and "Nisma Thurje" together in the May 11 elections, the coalition is officialized

The "Albania Becomes" movement and the "Weaving Initiative" have officially joined forces, signing an agreement to compete as a coalition in the May 11 elections.

In a press conference, the leaders of both political forces, Adriatik Lapaj and Endri Shabani, made the coalition official, while leaving the door open for other opposition parties to join them.

Lapaj said that their list will also include names representing Albanians in the Diaspora, while confirming that they are also in negotiations with the Legality Movement.

"Regarding the entities that are being negotiated with, of course there is a community of intellectuals from the Diaspora, with whom we are negotiating so that they too can have their own representatives in the candidacy. And the second is the Legality Movement, with which we believe we can go in this direction and we are awaiting a final finalization. These are in the aspects of the entities. As for individuals, I want to emphasize that until the last day when the process closes, on March 12, we are open on the Shqipëriaabëhet.al website, the Kandido application, where any intellectual or engaged citizen who believes that they have values ​​that can represent the citizens, can propose themselves as a candidate and in the end we will make the final list, giving the opportunity to every person who judges them," said Adriatik Lapaj.

Meanwhile, both leaders confirmed that they will run on open lists.  "All the central teams of our movements, the Presidencies will be on open lists, including Mr. Shabani and me," said Lapaj.

Meanwhile, Endri Shabani explained the scheme of how the coalition in question will compete with open lists in the May 11 elections.

"We are not competing with closed lists, as a result we undoubtedly filter out people who are not responsible for the situation Albania is in today, people who have a clean moral image and have not committed criminal offenses. But also people who have the stamina to resist this very difficult path that we have chosen. But the rest on the open list is decided by the voter. Voters will be presented with 140 candidates on open lists where they will choose their favorite.
