In the elections on May 11, 114,642 young people will vote for the first time. If all young voters participated in the elections, 18-year-old voters would win an average of up to 10 parliamentary seats.

Tirana, the largest region in the country, also has the highest number of high school graduates voting. 28,569 voters can for the first time determine the fate of two candidates for MP for the upcoming legislature.

While the votes of the young people of Fier, Durrës and Elbasan can elect one deputy for each district.

The vote of young people is just as important in other regions. But apparently high school graduates are the least interested in politics in Albania.

18-year-olds from Tirana high schools, interviewed by A2 CNN, admit that they do not know the programs or the candidates. Their vote on May 11 is mostly guided by family beliefs and interests.

There are many 18-year-olds who not only do not believe in politics but will not even go to the May 11 elections. They say they do not know the candidates, the programs, or the current leaders of the country's important institutions.

Even those politicians who tried to attract the attention of young people online in these elections, the latter are better known as Tik-Tok characters. For many young people interviewed, first-time voters, May 11 is an ordinary day off. They say they are waiting for the State Matura exams in the hope of leaving the country. (A2 Televizion)
