Rigerta Loku has left the 'Nisma Thurje', after the agreement with the 'Albania Becomes' Movement for the implementation of open lists was not respected.
Through a post on social media, Loku writes that "a man is bound by words, not by rope," reports A2 CNN.
Sniping at Adriatik Lapaj and Endri Shaban, she wrote that she was more disappointed by the two of them than by the old politicians of the last 30 years.
"A man is bound by words, not by rope."
Taking cue from the recent events that occurred regarding the sole mandate of the 'Albania Becomes Initiative', I express my indignation and absolute disagreement with how events unfolded.
For me, trust and the word given are institutions older and more sacred than the law, and in all this time they have only been violated and desecrated.
For years and years, from where I am, I have been running, not after the party but after ideals, because I don't want to do politics with word games but with the word that takes hold.
With just two Facebook statuses, two young people saddened and disappointed me more than the old ones for 30 years.
For a single mandate, not only were two parties and a coalition damaged, but the path of all new political forces, including those that might emerge tomorrow, was damaged and undermined.
I believed and we sacrificed a lot so that every mandate, this mandate, would be reduced to the open list. But this did not happen, and it did not happen in the worst possible way.
Therefore, today I am no longer politically engaged with the 'Weaving Initiative', but I will continue to be a free electron in my own little way.
Of course, I will also officially run for the City Council as an independent, after all, I have always been independent.
"I don't even want to know about the patriotism of individuals, I'm interested in my Mirdita, my Albania," she wrote in her post, writes A2 CNN.
But the member of the Korça Municipal Council, Klajdi Pllaha, has also left the 'Nisma Thurje'.
Through a post on her Facebook page, he writes that you leave a political party for the same reason you join.
"A wise friend once told me: 'For the same reason you join a party, you leave it for the same reason.'
In 2021, when I first got involved with the Weaving Initiative, I knew little about it, but I entered with idealism, because I believed in the purity of young people who wanted to change the system. I represented it in three elections, increasing the result and maturing politically, without losing idealism and purity.
Now is the time to break away from this movement, because the events of the last elections showed that this idealism has been lost in this party, or at best has been overshadowed by personal ego or political immaturity. Perhaps one day a deep and honest reflection will occur from the two leaders of the coalition, but for the moment, I can no longer represent the Weaving Initiative.
However, I do not regret these five years of commitment. First, because they have made me meet other idealistic young people, who unfortunately, one after another, have left the Initiative. Second, throughout the entire time I have not felt involved in the party's decision-making, so I have always been closer to the citizens of Korça than to the party itself. And I am sure that all those who have voted for me have put their trust in Klajdi, not the party.
My political commitment will continue, as in the last two years in the Municipal Council, to be the voice of the citizens of Korça – now and officially as an independent, as I have always felt.
And, despite everything, I remain positive, believing that idealistic and characterful young people will never be lacking in Albania, not even in politics. In the meantime, let's continue to strengthen the civic voice," Pllaha wrote on social media. (A2 Televizion)
