Prime Minister Edi Rama gathered all the mayors of Albania in Durrës today.
This meeting comes within the framework of the reform process to strengthen local government and prepare the country for membership in the European Union, writes A2 CNN.
It is also learned that this meeting will focus on a number of key topics that directly affect the development of the territory and the well-being of citizens, which are listed below.
The meeting will also serve as an inter-institutional platform for sharing good practices, increasing transparency, and strengthening coordination between central and local governments.
Also present at the meeting are several ministers and representatives of specialized institutions.

As part of the reform process to strengthen local government and prepare the country for membership in the European Union, an important working meeting will be held in Durrës with the participation of the Prime Minister of Albania, H.E. Edi Rama, and all heads of municipalities, line ministers and representatives of specialized institutions.
This meeting will focus on a number of key topics that directly affect the development of the territory and the well-being of citizens:
• Performance Grant and local finance indicators – as an instrument to link performance to funding.
• Mountain Package – a new law to promote investments in mountain areas and agrotourism.
• Legalizations and initial registration of properties – acceleration of processes in cooperation with municipalities.
• Law on Co-Ownership Administration – challenges and tasks for guaranteeing the quality of life in common spaces.
• The role of municipalities in the European integration process – capacity building and access to EU funds.
• Agriculture 2030 – new support policies for agricultural enterprises at the local level.
