Obesity knows no bounds in both adults and children. In the last 10 years, all countries report more overweight people due to malnutrition.
Albania is no exception when it comes to children. The World Health Organization sees the countries' efforts to curb obesity as otherwise known as the silent pandemic as gloomy.
And if obesity is only increasing, in recent years Albania has improved the problems that come from obesity. Today we have fewer children underweight and below the appropriate height norm.
In addition to the many problems caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, the only positive effect that the isolation and increased health care gave was the consumption of healthy foods and the eating of the most important meal even by children, breakfast.
According to the latest studies of the World Health Organization, Albania ranks first in the region for the consumption of fruits and vegetables by children.
But according to WHO forecasts, if malnutrition around the world continues at the current rate, after a decade we will have 254 million obese children, future patients of diabetes, hypertension and heart disease. (A2 Televizion)
