The Minister of Health and Social Protection, Albana Koçiu, has stated that next year, thanks to the budget of 1 billion euros approved for the Health and Social Protection sector, the fund for the reimbursement of medicines will be increased.
Koçiu said at the "Reconceptualization of Health Care, vision for a healthier Albania" conference that 400,000 citizens will be supported and will be treated with about 1,300 drugs from the reimbursable list.
" Our budget for this list has increased to almost 130 million euros for the next year ," she said.
According to her, cooperation in the pharmaceutical sector, as an essential pillar of our health system, is important to guarantee the market with new and innovative medicines that were not discussed until yesterday.
" While today we talk about how to develop more, how to strengthen the partnership between us even more, how to develop an open communication platform, active mutual cooperation in order to provide citizens with quality medicines, innovative medicines in treatment of diseases ", said the minister.
In conclusion, the Minister of Health and Social Protection, Albana Koçiu emphasized that " Albania today not only offers the standard line of treatment for every disease, but we always have more and more options and medications that offer citizens a wide range of more efficient treatment than before first ".
