As if living alone without any relatives is not enough, 70-year-old Ahmet Bici from Kukësi is forced to live in very difficult conditions. This former room of one of the state enterprises is his shelter where Ahmeti spends his days and nights and where he tries to survive. Orphaned as a child with a father shot by the communist regime and a mother who abandoned him, Ahmeti learned to survive alone.
But if he used to work, now the 70-year-old, amid loneliness and conditions that do not need comment for 25 years, has difficulties even to provide water and fulfill the most basic needs.
He has tried several times to ask for help from the local government in Kukës, but as he says, they have ignored him.
And in the end, the pensioner orphan has an appeal, albeit in a weak voice, that maybe someone will listen to him to provide him with at least a shelter.
It is in the dignity of the municipality of Kukes to enable this lonely pensioner to no longer remain at the mercy of fate. (A2 Televizion)
