It is not a natural hill, but the massive pile of urban waste from the municipality of Elbasan and beyond, which has been accumulating for more than a year near the Elbasan incinerator, which was supposed to process it to reduce pollution and produce energy.
Since this incinerator was blocked by SPAK over suspicions of abuse and corruption, the waste has become a danger to residents of the area around the incinerator and even beyond.
For Elbasan environmentalists, the situation created with waste is extremely dangerous not only for the surrounding area and Elbasan, but also beyond.
Off-camera, the incinerator director, Leli Kaja, states that the relevant institutions have been notified about the situation and so far there has been no concrete response, while the situation is getting worse every day, as around 100 tons of urban waste are deposited next to this incinerator that is not working every day.
