The UK is investing in several schools in the north of the country to train young people in an effort to curb illegal immigration.
“The past cannot be changed. The future is still in your hands.” This expression as old as humanity itself has more meaning than ever for Albania in the fourth decade of transition. “Man as the most precious capital of a country” has begun to gain importance in the country through “alternative paths,” albeit with the help of foreigners.
"Alternative Paths is a program funded by the British government to enable young people in 8 municipalities in northern Albania to increase their talents, their capacities... to develop them in order to build their future in their country and in turn create armed professions," Majlinda Mazelliu, Director of "British Council Albania", tells A2 CNN.
We live in the era of the mind, ideas... which for today's Albania in an effort to surpass itself, become more necessary than ever. "Through this project we want to sensitize first of all our children, our young people that acquiring some professional skills can be good for Albania as well. Even in the north or our villages", says coach Jetmir Qaushi.
But often these plans, even from the bright minds of young people, remain on paper due to the harsh climate of a business that still has a narrow vision. Therefore, to give life to these ideas, the “National Coding Challenge” was organized.
"We have a problem in our school, that we don't have lighting. That's why we implemented the project to provide a solution to this problem." "I have learned a lot from this project. I have learned that there is always a solution, you just have to persevere a little," say Isra and Xhenisa, students at the 9-year school "Ilir Dashi", Koplik.
With a name inherited from the past of Greek mythology, 7-year-old Paridi seeks to challenge the future of the automotive industry with his ideas. "It has the name 'Move Motor'. I have programmed it to follow the line and stop when it enters the garage. It has two wheels, two motors, two light sensors and a microbe," says Paridi.
Migration is an unstoppable global phenomenon, as the need to have a better life is a constant struggle for many people. However, it is up to everyone to find effective solutions to address and mitigate the cost of youth emigration and its negative effects. (A2 Televizion)
