This is Vasil Shkëmbi, from the city of Korça and has been working in the Korça bazaar for many years. He started in the artistic enterprise of this city where it seems that he has become very familiar with the art of copperwork and not only that but also other crafts, including woodwork.
The experience gained in the artistic enterprise served to open his own business in the center of the old bazaar and slowly he moved to the production of brandy cauldrons, a disappearing craft.
Given his age, he wanted to pass on this craft to his children, who, unfortunately, did not share the same opinion as their father.
Vasil Shkëmbi is the only one who produces copper rakia cauldrons. Meanwhile, in the old bazaar of Korça, there are other craftsmen, mainly blacksmiths who deal with work tools. (A2 Televizion)
