After the official announcement, Carlo Ancelotti was introduced as Brazil's coach, where, among other things, he also published the squad list for the two matches in June against Ecuador, on June 5th in a transfer, and five days later against Paraguay.
There were no surprises in the 25 names called by Ancelotti. The 65-year-old brings back Manchester United midfielder Casemiro and Tottenham striker Richarlison, writes A2.
The pair had not lined up for Brazil since the 2-0 loss to Uruguay in October 2023.
Meanwhile, Rodri and striker Neymar, who due to a thigh injury he suffered in April, are still not ready and in their best form, are left out.
In his first words as Brazil coach, Carlo Ancelotti said he is "honoured and proud to lead the best team in the world" as he aims to win the 2026 World Cup.
"I have a big job ahead of me. I'm happy with the group I have, the challenge is big. I've always had a special connection with this team. We will work to make Brazil champions again. That's our goal," Ancelotti said.
Brazil is in fourth place in the South American World Cup qualifiers, with four matches remaining, while the top six teams in the standings gain direct qualification for the 2026 World Cup. (A2 Televizion)
