Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur will face off in an all-English UEFA Europa League final, after both teams secured qualification with convincing victories in their respective semi-finals.
The Red Devils crushed Athletic Club 7-1 on aggregate, thanks to a 4-1 win in the return leg at Old Trafford. Valverde's Spaniards took the lead with a fine strike from Jauregizar, but United responded strongly in the second half. Mason Mount equalised with a precise strike, while Casemiro headed home a Bruno Fernandes free kick. Rasmus Højlund and Mount again added two more goals to seal the victory and send United into their ninth European final. With the success, they remain unbeaten in Europe this season and are aiming for the trophy as a salvation for an otherwise disappointing campaign.
Meanwhile, Tottenham beat Bodø/Glimt 2-0 away, completing a 5-1 aggregate victory. The first goal came from Dominic Solanke, who capitalised on a corner kick, while Pedro Porro scored the second with a cross that ended in the net. Spurs showed maturity and control on difficult ground, stopping the home side's winning streak and securing their sixth European final.
